A History of MPG Pianos
My name is Matthew Gough and I am a fully qualified piano tuner and technician who has been working in the Colchester area of Essex for over 18 years.
I tune and repair pianos as I have done since qualifying from College in 1988 with a BTec. HND and City and Guilds. I gained a large part of the Surrey School contract and spent 2 years servicing pianos in educational establishments all over the county.
In 1990 I passed the entrance examination of the Piano Tuners Association for which it is necessary to take a complete practical Tuning and Repair test. I have remained a member ever since and now serve on it's Executive council. For some years I wrote the regular column 'Life On The Road' for the Association's Newsletter 'PTA NEWS', of which I am now the Editor. I have an excellent reputation and well over 600 regular customers including many Piano and Music Teachers, Schools and Professionals.
Some years ago I started to supply my customers with excellent quality second hand Yamaha pianos. These superb, properly prepared instruments proved so popular that I started to sell them more widely. Then, noticing a flood of brand new cheap but poor quality pianos starting to flood the market, I tried to find a good value but well made new piano and after much research I am delighted to offer brand new Waldstein pianos to compliment my Yamahas!
